Approach High Court; SC Denies To Entertain Sisodia’s Bail Plea

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday turned down Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s bail plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy case.

The Supreme Court asked Sisodia to approach the high court, saying that there are enough legal remedies available to him at this stage.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on Sunday and produced before a court on Monday. He was sent to 5-day CBI custody.

The AAP leader was arrested under sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 477 A (intent to defraud) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The central probe agency summoned him on Sunday in connection with the alleged irregularities and corruption in the formulation and implementation of the new excise policy for the national capital.
