At Least 4 Killed, Several Injured in Blast at Firecracker Factory in UP

Kaushambi (UP): An explosion at a firecracker factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district on Sunday claimed the lives of at least four individuals and left several others injured. The injured have been rushed to the district hospital for urgent medical attention.

The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, as stated by SP Kaushambi Brijesh Kumar Srivastava during a press briefing. The factory located in Bharwari possessed the necessary license for both the sale and manufacture of firecrackers.

SP Srivastava confirmed the tragic loss of four lives, with additional individuals in critical condition receiving medical treatment. The victims were identified as workers within the licensed firecracker facility.

Local authorities managed to bring the fire under control, and legal proceedings have been initiated with the registration of a case.

Footage from the scene depicted thick black smoke rising into the sky, with community members and law enforcement personnel actively involved in firefighting efforts. The structure of the factory appeared severely damaged in the aftermath of the explosion.

This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar tragedy earlier this month in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda district, where 11 fatalities and over 170 injuries were reported due to a firecracker factory explosion. Legal action, including charges of culpable homicide, has been taken against the factory owners.
