Delhi Cop Suspended After Video Shows Him Kicking Muslim Men Offering Namaz on Road

New Delhi: A Delhi police officer was suspended after a video emerged showing him kicking and hitting Muslim men who were performing Friday prayers on a road. The incident, which took place in the Inderlok area, sparked outrage with many condemning the officer’s actions.

According to reports, a large crowd had gathered at a local mosque on Friday, exceeding its capacity. This resulted in some men being forced to offer prayers on the road.

Police officials arrived at the scene to manage the crowd. However, a disturbing video captured one officer resorting to violence, kicking and hitting the praying men. The act drew immediate condemnation from those present, with the crowd surrounding the officer and objecting to his behaviour.

The video of the incident was widely shared on social media, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) MK Meena informed that an inquiry has been initiated into the matter. The officer in question has been suspended with immediate effect, and disciplinary action is forthcoming.

Following the incident, security has been tightened in the Inderlok area to maintain peace and order.
