Delhi Court Rejects Brij Bhushan Singh’s Plea for Further Probe in Sexual Harassment Case

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday rejected an appeal by former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for further investigation into the sexual harassment case filed by six women wrestlers against him.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Priyanka Rajpoot set May 7 as the date for deciding whether charges should be framed against Singh in the case.

Singh had requested additional time for presenting arguments on the charges and for further investigation, citing his absence from India during one of the alleged incidents at the WFI office. His counsel argued that the Delhi Police had not provided the call detail records (CDR) related to the incident where a complainant claimed harassment.

The Delhi Police had previously filed a chargesheet against Singh, a six-time MP, on June 15 under Sections 354, 354A, 354D, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), alleging assault, sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation.

The charge sheet also implicated Vinod Tomar, the suspended assistant secretary of the WFI, in the case.
