Delhi Excise Policy Scam: AAP MP Raghav Chadha Named in ED Chargesheet

New Delhi: AAP MP Raghav Chadha was named in the second supplemental chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case involving the Delhi liquor policy on Tuesday. The investigation agency was informed by Manish Sisodia’s former secretary, C Arvind, that Raghav Chadha attended a meeting at the former Deputy Chief Minister’s residence.

Varun Roojam, the commissioner of the Punjab Excise Directorate, Vijay Nair, one of the defendants in the case, and other employees of the Punjab Excise Directorate were also there, according to C Arvind’s statement.

In its supplemental chargesheet submitted before a CBI court in Delhi, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) listed Manish Sisodia as an accused for the first time just days prior. The investigation agency detained Sisodia in February after questioning him for eight hours about the issue.

The AAP has strenuously denied the claim that the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021–22, which grants licences to liquor sellers, favoured some dealers who reportedly paid bribes for it. Later, the rule was dropped.

Meanwhile, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, in response, stated that he has not been listed as an accused or a suspect in his initial response to the ED chargesheet.

In addition, he stated that his name is not listed on the accusation “even as a witness”. He continued, “It’s propaganda to destroy my credibility and character.
