Hijack Threat Email to Hyderabad Airport, Flyer Detained

Hyderabad: Authorities of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad received a hijack threat message through email late Sunday evening. The message claimed that a passenger on an Air India international flight was a potential hijacker.

Following receipt of this threat email from an unknown email address, the security of Flight AI951 bound for Dubai was put on high alert.  Flight AI951 was directed to a separate isolation bay as a precautionary measure.

This threat email was received at around 7 PM on October 8. The email warned the airport authorities to “be careful” of a flyer who was allegedly an informer for Pakistani spy agency ISI and was planning to hijack Flight AI951.
