Assembly Polls in 5 states From November 7, Declares Election Commission

New Delhi: The Election Commission announced the scheduled for the assembly polls in 5 states. These upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram will be held from November 7 and counting of votes will take place on December 3, 2023.

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly election will be held in a single phase on November 17, followed by the Rajasthan election on November 23 and the Telangana polls on November 30, the Election Commission said Monday morning. Mizoram will kick-start the final round of elections this year; voting in the north-eastern state will be on November 7. Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases – on November 7 and November 17. All results will be declared on December 3.

CEC Rajiv Kumar says there are 679 assembly seats in these 5 states and 16 crore electors. Around 60 lakh first-time voters will participate in elections in five states. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram.

“The Commission will ensure free, fair and inducement-free elections in these 5 states. The Commission visited these five states and held detailed review meetings with the CEO, SPNO, District and State Administration & multiple centre and state Enforcement Agencies”.

Election Commission has laid special emphasis on ensuring a healthy, pure and inclusive electoral roll. 1.77 lakh polling stations will be set up in 679 assembly seats in 5 states. Over 1 lakh polling stations will have a webcasting facility. There will be 17,734 Model polling stations in these states. 621 Polling stations will be managed by PwD staff. Assured Minimum Facilities to be available in all Polling Stations.
