India’s 1st Private Rocket to Reach Space between Nov 12 and 16

India’s first private rocket, Vikram-S is expected to be launched to space between November 12 and 16. Hyderabad’s private space enterprise, Skyroot Enterprise has manufactured this rocket.

It will be launched from Sriharikota launchpad of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Vikarm-S is the first space vehicle entirely manufactured and operated by a private company of the country.

According to sources, the final date of the rocket launch will be confirmed as per the prevalent weather conditions. Vikram-S will carry three customer payloads to the intended orbit around the earth. This rocket will have a suborbital spaceflight.

A suborbital spaceflight occurs at a height of around 100km from the Earth’s surface. Suborbital flights are made before major space missions of any rocket.

In November 2021, Skyroot Aerospace successfully tested its fully 3D-printed rocket engines. In May this year, the company tested its solid-fuel rocket engine named Kalam-100.
