Speeding Car Rams Into Kerala Governor’s Convoy in Noida; 2 Held for Drunk Driving

New Delhi: A disturbing security breach occurred on Friday night as a speeding car collided with Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s convoy while he was en route to Delhi after attending an event in Noida.

Uttar Pradesh Police swiftly arrested two individuals responsible for the collision. The accused, Gaurav Solanki and Monu Kumar, both residents of Ghaziabad, were found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.

The reckless vehicle reportedly rammed into the governor’s convoy twice before being intercepted by the escort police team. A black Scorpio car suspected to be involved in the incident was also taken into custody.

Earlier, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had attended a private function in Sector 77, Noida. Following the event, he departed for Delhi with a pilot car and a Noida police escort vehicle in his fleet.

The collision occurred around 10.45 pm near metro station Sector 76 when the black Mahindra Scorpio (UP 16 DM 3155) obstructed the VIP fleet, driving rashly and negligently. The escort police team’s efforts to warn and distance the SUV from the convoy were futile as it eventually hit a traffic police vehicle in the fleet.

The accused, Gaurav Solanki and Monu Kumar were immediately apprehended by the police and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rash driving, intentionally disrupting public peace, assault on a public servant, and mischief.

Authorities are investigating the incident further to ensure the safety and security of dignitaries in the region.
