Kerala Govt Announces Working Hour Relaxation for Employees With Specially-Abled Children

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced new measures to support its employees who have children with disabilities. In particular, the government has granted a relaxation in working hours for those employees who have children suffering from autistic disorders, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, and mental retardation.

According to a statement released by the government, a government employee who is a parent of a child with 40 percent or more of these disabilities will be allowed a maximum of 16 hours of total working hours in a month. This is in addition to the concessions currently granted to government staff.
