Around 3 Lakh Devotees Flock Ayodhya Ram Temple to Offer Prayers on Day 1

Ayodhya: In a significant turnout, an estimated 2.5 to 3 lakh devotees flocked to Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on Tuesday to offer prayers to Ram Lalla. The Uttar Pradesh government officials reported a similar number eagerly awaiting their turn for darshan. To ensure smooth proceedings, senior officials, including Uttar Pradesh Special DG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar and the Principal Secretary (Home), were present inside the temple premises.

Following the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, the Ram Temple opened its doors to the general public. More than 8,000 security personnel were deployed to manage the massive gathering. Devotees from various parts of the country expressed their joy and anticipation. Tejender Singh from Chandigarh shared, “We are very pleased. We are touched even more to come to terms with the fact that we are going to have ‘darshan’ of the Ram Lalla.”

Acknowledging the expected crowd, another devotee commented, “Lakhs of people will have the darshan of Lord Ram. So it is bound to be crowded.” One devotee travelled a remarkable 1200 kilometres on a bicycle from Odisha’s Dhenkanal to Ayodhya to witness the darshan of Lord Ram.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya was marked by jubilant celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the main rituals. Similar celebrations were held across the country, commemorating Lord Ram’s return to his throne after over 500 years. The devotees’ overwhelming response underscores the deep significance of this spiritual event.
