Monkeys Kill 10-Yr-Old Boy in Gujarat Ripping Open his Stomach

Ahmedabad: A 10-year-old boy was killed in a gruesome manner in a monkey attack in Gandhinagar district in Gujarat.

The victim identified as Sipak Thakor was playing near a temple in Salki village in Dehgam taluka on Monday when he was attacked by some violent monkeys.

The monkeys ripped open the stomach of the boy and his intestines came out, said locals. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

It was the third major attack by monkeys in the village in a week.

There is a large troop of monkeys in the village, including four adult langurs that are involved in violent attacks on humans during past one week.

Forest officials have caught two of these langurs and efforts are on to trap the other violent monkeys roaming in the area.
