Newlywed Couple Delays ‘Bidai’ to Cast Vote in Lok Sabha Elections

Doda (J&K): In a heartwarming display of civic responsibility, a newly married couple from Bhaderwah, Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, decided to delay their traditional ‘bidai’ ceremony to participate in India’s Lok Sabha elections, the largest democratic exercise in the world.

Amidst the jubilant festivities of their wedding, the couple recognized the importance of their involvement in the democratic process and promptly headed to the polling station to cast their votes. A video shared online captured the groom, dressed in his wedding attire, entering the polling booth to exercise his franchise.

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is underway across 102 constituencies in 21 states and Union Territories. Voting began at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM. These elections are scheduled in seven phases, concluding on June 1, with counting slated for June 4.
