Delegation of I.N.D.I.A MPs to Visit Manipur on July 29, 30 to Assess Ethnic Violence

New Delhi: A delegation of over 20 Opposition MPs from the INDIA alliance will visit Manipur on July 29 and 30 to assess the ongoing ethnic violence in the state. The delegation aims to gain a first-hand account of the situation and to demand a discussion in Parliament about Manipur and a statement from the Prime Minister on the current situation in the state.

The visit is significant as it provides an opportunity for the MPs to assess the ground reality and address the concerns of the affected communities. The delegation will meet with government officials, civil society groups, and affected individuals to get a better understanding of the situation.

The ethnic violence in Manipur has been ongoing since May 3, when clashes broke out between the Kuki and Naga communities. The violence has left dozens of people dead and thousands displaced. The government has imposed a curfew in some areas and deployed security forces to try to quell the violence.

The visit by the Opposition MPs is an essential step towards understanding and finding solutions for the ethnic violence in Manipur. It also highlights the demand for parliamentary discussions and attention from the Prime Minister on the pressing matter.
