Out of Jail Sanjay Raut Has Turned Soft Towards The BJP

After getting released from jail, Uddhav Thackeray’s close aide Sanjay Raut seems to have softened his stance towards the BJP. Today he praised Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, although he knows for sure that Fadnavis BJP’s game planner behind Sena mutineer Eknath Shinde’s rise to power.

“Devendra Fadnavis has taken some good decisions. (His) Decisions such as housing for the poor deserve praise,” said Raut. He praised Fadnavis for giving more powers to Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). According to him, the Uddhav Thackeray government had taken away rights from the MHADA. “I did not like that. Mr Fadnavis has done well to restore those,” he added.

Raut also informed that he would meet Fadnavis,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah. He welcomed a statement from Fadnavis that political bitterness should be reduced.

Raut is a firebrand journalist turned politician. He was too critical of the BJP when Eknath Shinde broke away to form the rebel group.

He also refused to speak much on the court order. He is accused of a scam in a housing project. He refused to “blame the system as a whole” for his arrest. “I do not blame any central probe agency either. When they get a chance to do good things, they should,” he said.

He named VD Savarkar, Bal Gangadhar, and BJP’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee who’d spent years in jail, as his inspirations.

All these from the mouth of Sanjay Raut have raised eyebrows in political circles. Many think, his sudden soft approach towards the BJP hint at something big which may get unraveled in future.
