WATCH: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Calls Imran Khan a Greater Threat than Modi

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja M Asif in an interview with a local TV channel asserted that Imran Khan, the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), poses a greater threat to Pakistan than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Asif emphasized that while the foreign enemy is easily recognizable, the internal threat from Khan is often overlooked by the people. He compared the danger posed by Khan to that of Modi, questioning whether the enemy within is more perilous than the one across the border.

Asif also described the protests that erupted across Pakistan following Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 as a “mutiny.” He argued that these demonstrations were evidence of the greater threat to national security that Khan represents.

Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 triggered unrest across Pakistan, with protesters storming the army headquarters in Rawalpindi and setting fire to a corps commander’s house in Lahore. The clashes resulted in several deaths, and the military pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The remarks made by Defence Minister Asif highlight the concerns surrounding Imran Khan’s actions and their potential impact on Pakistan’s stability and security.
