Several Feared Dead as Coromandel Express Collides With Goods Train in Balasore

Balasore: On Friday, a tragic rail accident occurred in Odisha’s Balasore district as the Coromandel Express train collided with a goods train. The collision occurred in close proximity to the Bahanaga railway station, resulting in a devastating situation. Regrettably, there are fears that several passengers aboard the express train may have lost their lives, while many others remain trapped within the overturned coaches of the superfast train.

Following the incident, immediate action has been taken to initiate a search and rescue operation. Teams have been dispatched to the accident site by the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to provide assistance and aid in the recovery process.

Additionally, the District Magistrate of Balasore has been directed to personally oversee the situation and coordinate with the SRC, informing them about any further assistance required from the state level.
