PM In Himachal: Modi Fulfills His Promise, Wears Traditional Himachali ‘Chola Dora’

Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district, on Friday where he performed a “puja” before heading to the Badrinath shrine.

PM Modi was spotted wearing a traditional Himachali “Chola Dora” outfit crafted by Chamba women in Himachal Pradesh. The PM received the outfit during a recent trip to Himachal Pradesh.

Notably, Modi had promised the women that he would wear the dress on his next visit to the state, which he fulfilled today.

Modi is slated to visit numerous ongoing development projects and lay the foundation of some new ones during his two-day tour of the state.

The prime minister was welcomed by Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Union minister Ajay Bhatt upon his arrival at the Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun.

The prime minister will lay the foundation for the 9.7-km Gaurikund-Kedarnath ropeway project following “darshan” and “puja” at the temple.

Modi has a two-and-a-half-hour program in Kedarnath, and he will also stop by Adi Guru Shankaracharya’s Samadhi Sthal.
