2nd Phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Sees Nearly 61% Voter Turnout

New Delhi: The second phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections witnessed a significant voter turnout across various constituencies. According to the Election Commission data, approximately 60.96% of voters cast their ballots across 88 parliamentary constituencies in 13 states and Union territories till 7 PM.

Tripura’s lone seat recorded the highest turnout at 77.93%, followed by Chhattisgarh and West Bengal with 72.13% and 71.84%, respectively. In Manipur, 76.06% of voters participated, while Assam saw a healthy turnout of 70.66%.

In Maharashtra, the voter turnout reached 53.51%, while Bihar and Uttar Pradesh recorded 53.03% and 52.74%, respectively. Notably, Kishanganj saw a turnout of 56.12%, and Amroha in Uttar Pradesh recorded 61.89%.

Rajasthan observed an average turnout of 59.19% across 13 constituencies, surpassing the previous phase. Madhya Pradesh recorded 54.83% turnout in its six constituencies.

Karnataka’s 14 constituencies reported a turnout of 63.9%, with Mandya recording the highest at 74.87% and Bangalore Central the lowest at 48.16%.

The polling in Kerala’s 20 constituencies concluded with a provisional turnout exceeding 67.27%, with expectations of an increase due to long queues observed even after the official polling time ended at 6 PM.
