3 Including College Student Crushed to Death by Speeding Truck On NH-55 In Angul Dist

Angul: A speeding truck ran over three persons including a college student near Panchamahala on the National Highway (NH)-55 in Angul district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Rupa Dehury (48), Rajendra Pradhan (22) and Subrat Pradhan (17). All of them were from the Derjang village.

These three were travelling to the Angul market on a bike on Saturday morning when a speeding truck on the highway hit their motorcycle from the backside near Panchamahala. The trio and their bike were dragged to a distance by the trick after the accident.

All victims died on the spot. According to reports, Rupa and Rajendra were fish traders and Subrat was accompanying them to Angul to attend to his coaching class.

After the accident, locals blocked the highway at the spot demanding compensation for the deceased persons’ families.

Police reached the spot to pacify the protestors and also seized the accident causing truck for investigation.
