PM Modi to Flag Off Kerala’s 1st Vande Bharat Express Tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Thiruvananthapuram Central Station tomorrow.

400 Vande Bharat trains are to be produced in the upcoming years under the Make in India project.

Rail passengers will have a faster, more comfortable, and more convenient travel experience thanks to the train. Additionally, it will boost regional economic growth and tourism.

Vande Bharat trains have developed a new reputation for speed, effectiveness, and convenience. The first Vande Bharat Express service in Kerala will run between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod, traversing 11 districts and travelling 588 kilometres in around eight hours.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate a number of projects totalling more than Rs 3,200 crore on the same day in Kerala. The reconstruction of the Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Varkala Sivagiri railway stations is one of the several rail projects for which the PM will lay the groundwork.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate the Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad rail electrification stretch. Additionally, he will dedicate the Kochi water metro to the country. In order to provide continuous communication with the Kochi metropolis, this project will connect ten islands in the vicinity of Kochi using battery-operated electric hybrid boats.

At the occasion, PM Modi will officially lay the foundation for Thiruvananthapuram’s Digital Science Park. Digital Science Park is envisioned as a vital research site in order for businesses and industries to work together with academia to develop digital goods and services.
