PM Modi to Join International Summits in Japan, Papua New Guinea & Australia

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-nation tour, participating in key international summits. He will attend the G-7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan, from May 19 to 21, followed by the third Summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC III Summit) in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, on May 22. Finally, he will join the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Sydney, Australia, from May 22 to 24.

During the G-7 Summit, Prime Minister Modi will engage with partner countries on various important subjects, including peace, stability, and sustainable development. He will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders from other participating nations.

The FIPIC III Summit will bring together India and 14 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to strengthen cooperation in various areas. This visit will mark the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Papua New Guinea.

In Sydney, the Quad Leaders’ Summit will provide an opportunity for Prime Minister Modi to exchange views on Indo-Pacific developments with US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Bilateral meetings and interactions with Australian CEOs and the Indian diaspora are also planned.

This tour reflects India’s commitment to regional and global cooperation, fostering stronger ties and addressing key issues in the Indo-Pacific region.
