Sidhu Takes Swipe At BJP After Walking Out Of Jail

New Delhi: Soon after Navjot Singh Sidhu walked out of Patiala Jail on Saturday, the Congress leader addressed the media and launched an attack against the ruling BJP.

The cricketer-turned-politician slammed BJP over the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha.

“There is no such thing as democracy right now. There is a conspiracy to bring President’s Rule in Punjab. Minorities are being targeted. If you try to weaken Punjab, you will become weak,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.

He launched an attack against the BJP, saying that the saffron party-led government was “afraid”.

“Whenever a dictatorship came to this country, a revolution has also come and this time, the name of that revolution is Rahul Gandhi. He will rattle the government,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Saturday.

“I was supposed to be released around noon but they delayed it. They wanted media people to leave. Whenever a dictatorship came to this country a revolution has also come and this time, the name of that revolution is Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

Sidhu alleged that there is a conspiracy to impose President’s rule in Punjab. “They are trying to weaken Punjab. I stand like a wall with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and every Congress worker,” he said.

The Punjab government had earlier said it has no objection to Sidhu’s release.
