Navjot Singh Sidhu Likely to be Released From Patiala Jail Tomorrow

Amritsar: Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is likely to be released from Patiala Jail tomorrow.

The official handle of the leader confirmed the news through a tweet, “This is to inform everyone that Sardar Navjot Singh Sidhu will be released from Patiala Jail tomorrow. (As informed by the concerned authorities).”

Sidhu is serving a one-year jail term in connection to 1988 road rage death case. He was imprisoned on May 20, last year.

On December 27, 1988, Sidhu got into an argument with one Gurnam Singh over a parking spot. Sidhu and his associate allegedly dragged Gurnam Singh out of his and hit him. Gurnam succumbed to injuries.

In 2006, the Punjab and Haryana High court convicted Sidhu of culpable homicide and sentenced him to three years in Jail.

Sidhu approached Supreme Court in 2018, but it held Sidhu guilty.
