SRK As ‘Pathaan’ Roars At Box Office; Beats KGF 2’s Day 1 Collection

Mumbai: Bollywood fans were thrilled by Pathaan. Shah Rukh Khan’s fans had been anticipating his on-screen appearance with bated breath for the last four years. On January 25, 2023, the day of Pathaan’s release, “The King is Back” was trending on Twitter for virtually the entire day.

Despite the film’s mixed critical reception, the opening day box office numbers were impressive. Pathaan has managed to have a strong start after the Hindi film has been criticised for not generating big box office returns for months. The opening day figures of Pathaan have surpassed even Yash’s KGF-2‘s numbers.

According to box office reports, the first-day collection for the Hindi version of Pathaan on a working day like Wednesday is estimated to be over Rs 51 crore. Box Office India claims that “War (2019) collected 50 crores nett and KGF 2 (Hindi) (2022) collected 52 crores nett, respectively, however on holidays, the opening day is also among the top openers of all time.” The film’s total domestic and foreign collections are enormous, coming to somewhere between Rs 70 and Rs 80 crore.

Shah Rukh Khan plays an Indian spy in Pathaan. John Abraham plays an ex-Indian soldier who has gone rogue, while Deepika Padukone plays an ex-ISI official. Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana are also featured in the Siddharth Anand-directed movie.

Salman Khan also appears as Tiger in Pathaan. One of the most notable moments of the year is the scene in which Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan appear together.
