Student Fatally Shoots Female Friend Before Taking Own Life in Noida College

Noida: A tragic incident unfolded at Greater Noida’s Shiv Nadar University when a male student allegedly shot his female classmate on Thursday, according to the police. Subsequently, the student took his own life inside a room in the boys’ hostel.

The victim, identified as Neha Chaurasiya, and the perpetrator, named Anuj, were both pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and were in their third year. Neha hailed from Kanpur, while Anuj was a resident of Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh.

Eyewitnesses reported that Anuj and Neha were seen together near the dining hall, engaging in conversation and even hugging each other. However, the situation took a tragic turn when Anuj unexpectedly pulled out a pistol and shot Neha. He immediately retreated to his hostel room and took his own life. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Neha was declared brought dead.

The families of both the deceased have been notified, and it has been revealed that Anuj and Neha had been friends for a considerable period. However, sources indicate that they had been embroiled in a dispute for some time leading up to the unfortunate incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Saad Miya Khan provided initial details, stating that a male student from Shiv Nadar University had fatally shot his female classmate. The woman was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital but could not be saved. “After the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that both were friends for quite some time now. Today, they got involved in an argument, and the man shot his friend. He then took his own life in his room,” the DCP added.
