Tata Tiago EV Launched; Projected To Run 1000 KM For Just Rs 1100 | Know More

New Delhi: One of India’s top vehicle manufacturers, Tata Motors, has launched its new electric vehicle named Tata Tiago EV.

The car is slated to be India’s most affordable electric car with the base variant starting from Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top variant will cost Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom), according to the company.

The EV is available in two battery pack options. The base variant is fitted with a 19.2 kWh unit claiming a range of 250 kilometres while the top model holds a larger 24 kWh battery pack that boasts an effective range of 315 km on a single charge. The battery packs are protected by IP67 dust and water resistance ratings and use Tata Motor’s renowned ZipTron technology.

The car is notably equipped with two drive modes- City and Sports.

Further, for ease of access, the EV has four charging options; a 15 Amp home charging setup, a 3.3 kWh, and a 7.2 kWh AC fast charging the fastest of the lot is the DC fast charging capable of juicing up the battery from 10-80 percent in just 57 minutes.

Additionally, Tata provides premium features like cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, auto-headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and leatherette seats among others.

There is no direct competition for the brand-new Tata Tiago EV in the market.
