Telangana BJP Leader Arrested For Alleged Blasphemous Remarks On Prophet Muhammad

Hyderabad: After BJP’s suspended leader Nupur Sharma’s alleged remarks against Prophet Mohammed gained a lot of wrath from the nation and overseas, another saffron party lawmaker of Telangana, T Raja Singh has been booked and later arrested for the same.

A case was lodged against the BJP MLA after protests broke out on Monday night in Hyderabad after he released a video talking about the Prophet.

He was arrested under Sections 153a (promoting enmity between different groups), 295 (injuring or defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion), and 505 (public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code.

Reportedly, Singh had released a video in which he was allegedly making derogatory remarks about Prophet.

The report stated that he apparently reiterated a few things that suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had said on a television debate which snowballed into an international row.
