Alert Loco Pilot Averts Disaster for Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express

The Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express narrowly escaped a potentially disastrous accident thanks to the quick thinking of its loco pilot. This high-speed train, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, was en route to Jaipur when the driver spotted large stones obstructing the tracks, some as big as bricks.

The vigilant loco pilot promptly applied the emergency brakes, preventing a collision with the debris. Railway staff members removed the stones and an iron rod was inserted between the fish plates or joints.

A thorough track inspection also revealed a loose fastener, which was immediately rectified.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with users demanding strict action against the culprits.

This is not the first time that a Vande Bharat Express has been targeted. In May, stones were thrown at a Vande Bharat train in Kerala, while in April, a similar incident occurred in Visakhapatnam. In January 2023, stones damaged two window panes of the train near the Phansidewa area of Darjeeling district.
