Satya Pal Malik Joins Wrestlers As Protest Enters Day 4

New Delhi: Former governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, joined the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) by some of the country’s ace wrestlers.

“The support needs to grow, and I will personally do my part to grow it,” Malik told the journalists on the sidelines of the protest. “This fight is not just theirs; it is for all women in our country.”

“The farmers’ unions were successful in getting the PM to apologise when they staged protests a few months ago. There is no doubt in my mind that you will succeed now that they are on your side,” he assured the wrestlers.

Satya Pal Malik’s arrival at Jantar Mantar comes a day after Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the leader of opposition in Haryana, a former member of the Rajya Sabha, Brinda Karat, and Reena Gupta, spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party, all descended on the protest site after the wrestlers requested more political backing for their movement.

The protest had entered its fourth day when the wrestlers were observed working out and practising earlier in the day.
