10 Jawans & Driver Die in IED Blast by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada

Raipur: Maoists triggered an IED blast targeting a vehicle of security personnel, killing 10 jawans and the driver of the vehicle in Chhatisgarh’s Dantewada on Wednesday.

The martyred jawans were members of the District Reserve Guard (DRG). Their vehicle faced the IED blast triggered by Naxals in Dantewada’s Arnapur area. Following intelligence reports that Naxalites were hiding in the area, these security personnel had reached the area for an anti-Maoist operation.

During their return journey, the vehicle of the DRG personnel became victims of the IED planted on the road by the Maoists. Ten personnel of the DRG force and the driver of the vehicle were killed on the spot.

Union Home Minster Amit Shah called up Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel to take stock of the situation.
