5 Tiger Cubs Born of Tigress Ankita in Nandankanan Zoo

Bhubaneswar: Tigress Ankita gave birth to five cubs at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The delivered cubs included one stillborn. The tigress gave birth to these cubs at Enclosure No. 31 of the zoo. It was the second pregnancy of Tigress Ankita.

The four newborn tiger cubs are red in colour. Both mother and her cubs are being closely monitored through CCTV surveillance. According to the zoo authorities, the mother tigress Ankita is alos taking care of her newborns.

According to reports, male Royal Bengal Tiger Nandan was the father of these newborn cubs.

With these new births, the tiger population at Nandankanan zoo reached 31. Out of them, 7 are white tigers.
