A rare surgery by an Odia doctor in Visakhapatnam become successful

Visakhapatnam city of Andhra Pradesh is well known in the field of healthcare. Most of the hospitals here are staffed by orthodox doctors. An Odia doctor named Shivshankar Dalai working at Modicare Hospital in Visakhapatnam has achieved great success by performing a rare surgery. Dr. Shivashankar Dalai is well known in Visakhapatnam as a Vascular Surgeon across the country. 10 days ago, Dr. Dalai performed a rare surgery on the head of a 56-year-old woman. It has been successful and it is said to be done for the first time in India.

According to information, a 56-year-old woman from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, B. Veera Kumari was writhing in pain due to an enlarged artery in her head. As a result, she suffered severe headaches and lost her eyesight. She rushed to various hospitals for treatment but to no avail. Later she visited Dr. Shivashankar Dalai. After doing all the tests, an artery in Veera Kumari’s head was found to be swollen and no blood was flowing to it. Such diseases are rare in India and 60 to 70 percent of patients die before reaching the hospital due to neglect or undiagnosed disease, said Dr. Shivshankar Dalai.

Giving more information about this disease, Dr. Shivshankar Dalai said, “Improper blood circulation in the arteries in the head, severe blood clots in any part of the head, severe headache are the symptoms of a brain aneurysm. Due to ignoring it, it slowly puts the patient in danger.” “If the disease is treated at the right time, a patient can recover.” Dr. Dalai along with a team of 10 people on the last 11th B. Veera performed surgery on Kumari. The surgery lasted for more than 3 hours. Successful surgery was achieved due to the full efforts of the medical team. The woman is now fully recovered and has gone home, says the doctor.
