After Wife’s Death Man Jumps into Baitarani River with Minor Daughter, Yet to be Traced

Bhadrak: Despite an intense search operation on Thursday, the man who jumped into the Baitarani river with his minor daughter in Bhadrak district is yet to be traced.

The man identified as Chandan Sahu, a resident of Paramanandpur village under Balipokhari Gram Panchayat, jumped into the river along with his daughter from Akhuapada bridge under Bhandari Pokhari block on Wednesday evening.

Chandan along with his daughter came to the bridge on a bike. His motorcycle and shoes were found lying on the bridge.

Receiving information, local police and fire brigade personnel launch a search operation to rescue the father-daughter duo. But they had to stop the search due to darkness. The search operation was resumed again on Thursday.

Chandan used to work in Surat of Gujarat. A few months back he lost his wife. The reason for which he jumped into the river along with his child is yet to be ascertained.
