Balasore Train Accident: Min Ashwini Vaishnaw Gives Rs 1.55 Cr MPLAD Fund for Bahanaga’s Development

Balasore: Union Railways Minister and Rajya Sabha MP, Ashwini Vaishnaw sanctioned Rs 1.55 crore from his MPLAD fund for the development of peripheral areas surrounding Bahanaga of Odisha’s Balasore district. A triple train accident at Bahanaga on June 2 claimed 293 lives.

Vaishnaw allocated Rs 1 crore for developmental projects in Bahanaga and nearby villages. Added to it, Rs 35 lakh would be used to procure an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance for the Balasore district headquarters hospital. Another Rs 20 lakh from his MPLAD fund will be used for the establishment of a modular operation theatre at the Balasore Lions’ Eye Hospital.

The developmental projects to be taken up with this fund include the construction of five community centers and halls, a children’s park and gymnasium in close proximity to Basuli High School, as well as the reinforcement of the road connecting NH-16 to level crossing No. 95.

The village road at Sathi will be renovated and 42 solar streetlights will be put up in the area.
