Odisha Govt’s Strict Action Against 9 Corrupt Officers

Bhubaneswar: Adhering to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s zero-tolerance approach towards corruption, the Odisha government initiated stern action against nine more officers who were proven to be involved in corruption.

Three of these officers were dismissed. Pension of six officers was held up permanently, stated an official press release on Friday.

Till now the Odisha government has taken strict action against 197 corrupt officers, who have been either dismissed from their jobs, were given compulsory retirement, or their pensions were stopped.

Out of the nine officers punished recently, Shivaram Vishal, former Executive Officer of Cuttack District RWSS Division-II, convicted in a corruption case, has his pension stopped permanently.

The pension and gratuity of Gandaram Khamari, a retired OAS Officer of Kalahandi district, has been permanently suspended after his conviction in a corruption case.

Gokul Chandra Naik, former Assistant Agriculture Officer of Umerkot of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, was dismissed from his job due to corruption and inefficiency.

Pension and gratuity of Krishnachandra Goud, former Assistant Agriculture Officer of G Udayagiri, has been permanently stopped. Similar action has been taken against former Soil Conservation Officer of Malkangiri district Dasharathi Tripathi, as he was found guilty in a corruption case.

Upendrabhanj Naik, a former junior engineer of Sohela RWSS in Bargarh district, was dismissed from service.

Sushil Kumar Meher, a former auditor of Sundargarh District Local Fund Audit Department, was dismissed from service on charges of corruption and inefficiency.

The pension and gratuity of the former Social Education Officer of Mayurbhanj Udala, Anand Chandra Naik, have been permanently stopped due to his conviction in a corruption case.

Former DMSN Superintendent of Chandpur in Nayagarh district Surendra Nathpati has his pension permanently stopped after being convicted in a corruption case.
