BDO’s Fake Signature Case: Husband Of Block Chairman Arrested

Khordha: Police have arrested a contractor, who is the husband of the Chilika block chairperson for allegedly withdrawing a security deposit of Rs 15 lakh by forging the concerned BDO’s signature.

The accused Kishore Behera is a former Zilla Parishad member, who is also the husband of the Chilika block chairperson. He is a contractor by profession. For some construction work contract, he had pledged Rs 15 lakh towards security money. He was to get back the deposit money after the completion of the work.

He allegedly withdrew the deposit money before the completion of his work by forging a government letter and the signature of the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tangi.

Following this, Tangi BDO lodged a complaint at Tangi police station regarding it. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered under Section 420 of the IPC.
