Bhadrak Woman SI Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Same-Sex Scribe

Bhadrak: The woman SI of Chudamani Marine police station of Bhadrak district was suspended and arrested for sexually assaulting her same-sex scribe.

The accused was identified as SI Tapaswini Mohapatra. Reportedly, the accused recently changed her sex organ.

According to reports, the accused and the woman were in an intimate relationship since 2021. Later Mohapatra wanted to convert the relationship into marriage but the scribe opposed it.  This created disturbance between both. Reportedly, the SI started sexually assaulting her scribe. Following this, the woman lodged a harassment case at the police station.

Based on the complaint, Eastern Region IG Himansu Lal directed the Bhadrak SP to conduct an investigation into the matter. After an investigation, Tapaswini was found guilty.

The SI was booked under Sections of 506, 294, 354, 354A, and 323 of the IPC and forwarded to court.
