Bombay HC orders Release of Chanda Kochar & Husband from Judicial Custody

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday provided some respite to former ICICI CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar. The court ordered both of them to be released from judicial custody after CBI arrest. They were arrested by the CBI.

The Bombay High Court observed that the “Arrest not in accordance with the law.” the court observed. The couple is to be released from judicial custody on bond of Rs 1 lakh.

On Friday the Bombay High Court on Friday reserved its order on the petitions filed by former ICICI Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chanda Kochhar and her husband Deepak Kochhar over the issue of alleged “illegal arrest” by CBI.

Kochhars were arrested on December 25 by CBI in connection with the Videocon-ICICI Bank loan case.
