Caught On Cam: Two Royal Bengal Tigers Spotted In Odisha Forests

Bhubaneswar: Two Royal Bengal Tigers (RBT) have been sighted in forests in Keonjhar and Debrigarh, informed officials on Monday.

The movement of the big cats was caught on cameras and the pictures are now going viral on social media platforms.

According to video footage which is in the possession of the forest department, the big cats seem to have entered the sanctuary recently.

The one at Keonjhar is believed to be around 3-4 years old. The RBT is suspected to have reached Ghatagaon from Similipal to Satakosia through Karanjia. The movement of the tiger was captured on its way back to Similipal, officials said.

Additional squads have also been mobilised for tiger management in Debrigarh. The pugmarks are being analyzed by a biologist.

On the other hand, villagers of Rohaniduma and Banamahul Diha of Keonjhar had recently found pugmarks of tigers near the carcass of a bore in the reserve forest.

The Forest department is trying to find out the species of the tiger from the pugmarks. Reportedly, a few months ago, an RBT was sighted at the Debrigarh sanctuary in the Sambalpur district.
