Congress Promises To Rename Narendra Modi Stadium

Ahmedabad: The name of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be changed if Congress returned to power in Gujarat. In its manifesto for Gujarat assembly polls, Congress has promised to rename Narendra Modi stadium as Sardar Patel Stadium.

This cricket stadium was earlier named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, claimed Congress leaders of Gujarat.

Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world. It is situated within the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave in Ahmedabad. This huge cricket stadium can accommodate 1,32,000 spectators.

In its manifesto, Congress also made lucrative promises like farm loan waivers up to Rs 3 lakhs, 300 units of free electricity, Rs 3,000 per month allowance to each unemployed youth, and domestic gas cylinders for Rs 500.

Assembly elections will be held in Gujarat in two phases, on December 1 and 5. Votes will be counted on December 8.
