Defying Health Ministry Instructions Rahul Gandhi Takes Up ‘Yatra’ in Delhi

New Delhi: Defying the call to follow COVID protocols by Union Health Minister, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi entered Delhi on Saturday morning. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi also joined Rahul. Senior leaders of the party like Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala marched along with Rahul Gandhi in this Delhi stretch of the yatra.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ was welcomed by Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary at Badarpur.

Addressing the Congress supporters, Rahul Gandhi reiterated that the motive of his yatra is to open a ‘mohabbat ki duka’(shop of love) in the midst of ‘nafrat ka bazar’ (market of hatred).

He alleged that BJP, RSS spread hatred while Congress spreads love. Earlier, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had written to Rahul Gandhi asking him to ensure Covid “protocols” are followed during Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Congress had alleged that the BJP was scared of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and wanted to stop it.

At 1 PM the yatra will resume again to conclude at the Red Fort. Then after a nine-day break it will again start on January 3 from Delhi.
