Dowry Torture for Rs 30 Cr Demand in UP

Lucknow: A woman of Lucknow lodged a complaint with police stating that her husband and in-laws were torturing her for a dowry demand of Rs 30 crore. She happens to be the daughter of a prominent businessman in Lucknow.

As per the FIR lodged, her husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law were torturing her and demanding a dowry of Rs 30 crore.

The victim alleged that she was being harassed for more dowry, even though her parents gave costly gifts and organized a grand wedding function in 2010.

She alleged that she was beaten when she opposed the dowry demand. The victim said she was forced to ask her maternal uncle to arrange a contract her husband who earned Rs 4 crore though the business. But they did not stop beating her even after that.

The case is under investigation.
