Dreaded Gangster Shot Dead on Court Premises in Lucknow by Gunmen Posing as Lawyers

Lucknow: Some unidentified gunmen shot dead dreaded gangster Sanjeev Jeeva at a Lucknow court on Wednesday. The assailants opened fire inside the courthouse, killing Sanjeev Jeeva. The assailants were dressed like lawyers, reports said.

Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva was a close associate of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari. He was also an accused in the BJP MLA Brahmhadatt Dwivedi murder case, in which Mukhtar Ansari is prime accused.

Jeeva was brought to Lucknow court for the hearing in a criminal case pending against him.

The attackers said to be dressed as lawyers managed to escape after shooting down Sanjeev Jeeva. A police constable was also injured in the attack.
