Fake Notes of Over Rs 31 Lakh Seized in Bolangir, Kingpin Arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch seized fake currency notes worth Rs 31.27 lakh in Bolangir’s Titlagarh. The kingpin of this fake currency racket was also arrested.

According to official sources, fake currency notes were seized near the main gate of bus stand park, Titlagarh, on February 1. The arrested person is identified as Lingaraj Behera (50). He hails from Kantamal in the adjoining Kalahandi district. The fake notes seized from him were of Rs 500, Rs 200, and Rs 100 denominations.

The seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) will be sent to Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudrana Pvt. Ltd, Mudrana Nagar, Salaboni, Pachima Medinapore, West Bengal, for examination and opinion.

The STF has of Odisha Crime Branch has so far seized Rs 78,70,600 worth of fake currency notes.
