Five Jumbos Rescued From Mud Pit in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: Five wild elephants including two calves were successfully rescued from a large mud pit by the forest department staff, today. The jumbos had got stuck in the mud pit at Katharoma village in Kuliana block of Mayurbhanj district.

This morning locals spotted the elephants in the water-filled. They informed the Forest officials about the stranded pachyderms. Forest officials rushed to the spot and rescued the elephants successfully.

Reportedly, an elephant herd has been roaming near the village for the last few days. Five elephants from the herd fell into the pit, late last night.
