Gautam Gambhir Expected to Become Head Coach of Team India, Reports

New Delhi: As per reports, Gautam Gambhir is expected to succeed Rahul Dravid as the men’s team’s head coach.

According to a report in India Today, Gambhir is now set to replace Dravid as Team India’s head coach. Gambhir recently took charge as KKR’s mentor, leaving his job with the Lucknow Super Giants.

Rahul Dravid’s tenure as the head coach of Team India is to end soon. Gambhir’s name has been doing rounds as Dravid’s replacement following his impressive stint as the mentor for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 franchise KKR.

Other IPL coaches like Stephen Fleming and Andy Flower are also in the race for the role of head coach of the Indian team. But Gambhir seems to be in the lead.

The BCCI invited applications for the post of head coach by May 27. It is said to have received over 3000 forms, including several fake ones. The BCCI will start interviewing shortlisted candidates soon.
