Heavy rainfall to occur in these states for next few days: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of the country in the next few days. As per the weather forecasting agency, the western end of the monsoon trough runs to the north of its normal position, and the eastern end is along the foothills of the Himalayas. Similarly, a north-south trough runs from southeast Madhya Pradesh to the Comorin area while a cyclonic circulation lies over the Comorin area and neighborhood in lower troposphere levels.

Isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorm, and lightning are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 3 days.

Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Interior Karnataka, and Andaman & Nicobar island.
