Heat Wave to Continue till April 16; Predicts IMD

Bhubaneswar: The regional center of  India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that heat waves and hot weather conditions will prevail across Odisha for the next few days.

The maximum temperature is likely to rise by 2°C to 3°C during the next two days in several districts of the state.

Due to the heat wave, the maximum (day) temperature is likely to be more than 40°C and 2°C to 5°C above the normal temperature in most places in Odisha for the next four days.

The Indian Meteorological Department has advised people to take precautionary measures while venturing outdoors during day time, especially between 11 am and 3.00 pm.

IMD has also issued a yellow warning regarding the heat wave has been issued for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore districts from April 13 to 14. The heat wave is likely to continue in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, and Balasore districts for April 14 to 15.

Heat wave conditions are very likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Deogarh, Boudh and Kandhamal districts on April 16.
