Indian Army to Recruit ITI/Polytechnics Pass Outs under Agnipath Scheme

New Delhi: The Army is planning to recruit technically skilled youths as Agniveers. Indian Army has tweaked the Agnipath scheme to widen the eligibility criterion for Agniveers, reported India Today. The Agnipath scheme will now be extended to pre-skilled youth, ITI/Polytechnics graduates in the technical category.

Through this Indian Army envisions recruiting skilled Agniveers for technical branches. Under the amendment, there will be a special thrust on the recruitment of those with vocational training and skilled candidates. Recruitment of such candidates will help reduce the time spent on training. This change will widen the scope of the Agnipath scheme and make it open to more candidates.
